Tattoo

I know it's been awhile, but now that I'm done with five semesters of Greek, I'm hoping to return to the blogosphere! Right now, I'm sitting at the beach watching Miami Ink. I've heard about it, but we don't have cable at home.

I'm really struck by the show. I'm hoping this is the last episode tonight, because if it isn't I'm going to be up awhile. The same thought keeps running through my head--If we really want to reach out to this generation, we need to set up some tattoo shops....

If that seems kind of silly, then watch an episode and listen to the stories. And while we're at it, what if we could find a way to offer pre-marital counseling to non-christians?

I like the stories too....and the tattoos are amazing....I hear the money is pretty good. It could be a great way to pay off some loans. You know you have a head (if not a file) full of youth group logos. ;)

I agree, there are so many real stories that Christ could easily fit.

I did not know how much pain is associated in the stories in those getting the tattoo's.

I do not know if it is just the editing to make the show that much more dramatic than just a show about tattoo's.

I know in TN you get something like $60 off your marriage license if you do pre-marital counseling. I don't see why you couldn't take a secular position on marriage but still advocate positive values that will help the marriage to last, and those who participate will get a break in wedding costs. Plus you get connected with a couple who might come to you in the future with questions. It isn't a lot, but it's a foot in the door.

I know this is an old post, but I'm just now catching up from being home for three months and in Rome for two weeks. Life is finally getting back to normal, whatever that is, here in Doha. So anyway, Miami Ink...yeah, I caught the show while I was home. I too was hooked. They're amazing artists. Your problem would be that youth group kids are under the age of 18, hahaha. Otherwise, it's a cool idea. I've been blogging about Rome, come by and say Hi.
